Das Tal des Eisens und des Eises
Forse già abitata in epoche lontanissime da cacciatori e pastori, sicuramente frequentata dagli antichi romani, che hanno lasciato tracce del loro passaggio sulle pendici della Civetta. Ma è dal II Millennio che Zoldo si fa conoscere, prima per le miniere e la lavorazione del ferro per la Serenissima Repubblica di Venezia, poi per il gelato artigianale, oggi conosciuto nel mondo intero.
Zoldo may have been inhabited in prehistoric times by hunters and shepherds. It was undoubtedly inhabited by the ancient Romans who left traces of their passage on the slopes of the Civetta. But fame only came in the 2nd millennium, when Zoldo became wellknown first of all for its mines and iron industry serving the Republic of Venice and then for its homemade ice cream, now famous throughout the entire world.
Das vielleicht bereits in Urzeiten von Jägern und Hirten bewohnte Tal wurde später von den Römern durchzogen, die an den Hängen der Civetta ihre Spuren hinterließen. Aber seit dem 2. Jahrtausend macht Zoldo von sich reden: Zuerst wegen der Bergwerke zur Eisenbearbeitung für die Republik Venedig und dann wegen des Eises, das heute in aller Welt bekannt ist.
